Nevena Gavran, the coordinator of a crisis negotiation team, is sent by her superior to handle what appears to be a routine hostage situation in the remote village of Zlokućani. As the situation spirals out of control, she is forced to break protocol and confront the armed perpetrator face to face.

Tanasije and Nevena are called to a case involving Srđan Stanković, known as “Zmaj,” who has assaulted a neighbor. His behavior shifts rapidly between calm rationality and intense paranoia, making negotiation extremely difficult.

As negotiators attempt to de-escalate the situation, mounting pressure from their superiors and personal tensions within the team push everything to a breaking point.
